Chinese (or Asian) Brush Painting uses Chinese brushes, rice paper, ink, and watercolors. However, watercolor paper and watercolor brushes are NOT traditionally used. 

 

For best results, the following Chinese Brush Painting materials may be purchased online from the sources identified below. Alternatively, feel free to use your own Chinese Brush Painting supplies or obtain comparable items elsewhere.

• Small plastic plate (white, approximately 6”-8” diameter)

• Small plastic water container (approximately 6”-8” diameter x 3” deep)

• Newsprint, kraft, or butcher paper (approximately 15”x15” or larger to absorb moisture and protect the table) 

• Small fine-mist spray bottle (approximately 2-4oz)

• Absorbent paper towels
